In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for the alleged killing of a 70-year-old woman during a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. Police reported that the woman, Ramvati Devi, was trying to protect her son Bijendra Kumar during an argument with the accused, Majid, who lived in the same neighborhood. Majid allegedly pushed Ramvati during the altercation, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. ACP Abhishek Srivastava stated that the incident occurred in the LIG flats under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna. The altercation started when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver who was reportedly intoxicated, was questioned by Bijendra for sitting outside their residence late at night. Ramvati intervened to defuse the situation but ended up getting pushed by Majid, resulting in her tragic demise. Ramvati's body underwent a post-mortem examination, and an FIR has been filed against Majid under various sections of the law. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody after appearing in court.
